A fuzzy DEMATEL-ANP-VIKOR analytical model for maintenance strategy selection of safety critical assets

In most industries, such as aerospace, manufacturing, transport and energy sectors, maintenance plays a vital role in improving the performance of safety critical equipment facilities. It also helps industries achieve largest possible efficiency, ensure workplace environmental safety, reduce unnecessary breakdowns costs. Therefore, it is crucial for to adopt an optimal strategy their systems infrastructure. this study, we aim propose novel analytical multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methodology selecting suitable distillation units oil refinery plants. The alternative strategies include run-to-failure (RTF), preventive (PM), condition-based (CBM), reliability centered (RCM), which are evaluated with respect 12 sub-criteria three categories economical, sustainability issues. MCDM consists DEMATEL-based analytic network process (ANP) method determine importance weights decision criteria VIKOR rank strategies. Also, interval type-2 fuzzy sets used capture uncertainty experts’ individual judgments. Finally, real case study provided show applicability proposed plant. results that, thanks advances degradation modeling, sensor technology, data analytics platforms, RCM CBM superior crude systems.
